Cependant, bien que ces trois mat\u00e9riaux soient des polym\u00e8res thermoplastiques (ils fondent lorsqu&rsquo;ils sont chauff\u00e9s) qui s&rsquo;impriment plus ou moins facilement, ils pr\u00e9sentent des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes qui d\u00e9terminent leurs applications. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>L&rsquo;acide polylactique (PLA)<\/strong> provient de sources naturelles telles que l&rsquo;amidon et est \u00e9galement biod\u00e9gradable, ce qui lui conf\u00e8re une durabilit\u00e9 in\u00e9gal\u00e9e par ses deux autres concurrents d&rsquo;origine p\u00e9troli\u00e8re. Le PLA pr\u00e9sente d&rsquo;autres avantages, tels que sa facilit\u00e9 de traitement (temp\u00e9rature d&rsquo;extrusion plus basse) et sa bonne finition de surface, en particulier pour les pi\u00e8ces esth\u00e9tiques. Cependant, ses propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques sont limit\u00e9es, surtout lorsque le PLA est soumis \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures aussi basses que 55-60 \u00b0C.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>L&rsquo;acrylonitrile butadi\u00e8ne styr\u00e8ne (ABS)<\/strong> est compos\u00e9 de trois monom\u00e8res diff\u00e9rents qui apportent chacun certaines propri\u00e9t\u00e9s. Dans l&rsquo;ensemble, l&rsquo;ABS pr\u00e9sente un bon ensemble de propri\u00e9t\u00e9s telles que la r\u00e9sistance, la flexibilit\u00e9 et la durabilit\u00e9. D&rsquo;autre part, sa r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la chaleur est bien sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle du PLA, ce qui lui permet de conserver une plage de fonctionnement beaucoup plus large. C&rsquo;est pourquoi l&rsquo;ABS est en train de supplanter le PLA et pourquoi Addimen le recommande, en particulier pour les pi\u00e8ces pr\u00e9sentant des exigences m\u00e9caniques, aussi faibles soient-elles. Le l\u00e9ger surco\u00fbt du mat\u00e9riau est tout \u00e0 fait justifi\u00e9 dans la plupart des cas. Cependant, l&rsquo;ABS est sujet au gauchissement et \u00e0 la fissuration si les temp\u00e9ratures de traitement (lit, chambre et extrudeuse) ne sont pas bien contr\u00f4l\u00e9es.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un autre facteur \u00e0 prendre en compte est que l&rsquo;ABS est soluble dans l&rsquo;ac\u00e9tone, ce qui permet de polir facilement les pi\u00e8ces fabriqu\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de ce mat\u00e9riau. Ainsi, m\u00eame si le PLA sort de l&rsquo;extrudeuse avec une meilleure finition de surface, l&rsquo;ABS et l&rsquo;ASA peuvent am\u00e9liorer leur aspect gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des vapeurs d&rsquo;ac\u00e9tone. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour conclure cette comparaison,<strong> l&rsquo;acrylate, le styr\u00e8ne et l&rsquo;acrylonitrile (ASA)<\/strong> pr\u00e9sentent des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s tr\u00e8s similaires \u00e0 celles de l&rsquo;ABS, mais se r\u00e9v\u00e8lent particuli\u00e8rement r\u00e9sistants aux intemp\u00e9ries, aux rayons solaires, aux hydrocarbures satur\u00e9s, aux huiles, aux solutions salines aqueuses et \u00e0 certains alcools. Par cons\u00e9quent, le surco\u00fbt li\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;utilisation de l&rsquo;ASA \u00e0 la place de l&rsquo;ABS n&rsquo;est justifi\u00e9 que lorsque la pi\u00e8ce sera expos\u00e9e aux \u00e9l\u00e9ments mentionn\u00e9s ci-dessus. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un point commun entre l&rsquo;ABS et l&rsquo;ASA est qu&rsquo;ils lib\u00e8rent de petites quantit\u00e9s de styr\u00e8ne pendant l&rsquo;impression.
